Hoang My Linh

Just acquired an additional name yesterday and feeling inspired to write about it. Apparently, my mom wanted to name me Hoang My Linh when she had me, but somehow changed her mind and named me Hoang Phuoc Kimchi instead. I like both names. They both carry beautiful Christian meanings.

Hoang Phuoc Kimchi can be translated to mean “royal blessings gold branch”, “royal blessings gold life force” in Vietnamese. Hoang My Linh means “royal beautiful spirit/soul”. Thought of as a verb, using human agency as the premise, Hoang Phuoc Kimchi can mean “gold branch brings royal blessings” and Hoang My Linh can mean that I inspire the Hoangs to have a beautiful spirit. The Hoangs can mean all the people named Hoang in the world, it can also mean that I inspire royalty/ruling class to have a beautiful spirit. It can also mean that my Hoang family makes the US have a beautiful spirit or brings a godly spirit to the US.

Hoang My Linh has a lot of different meanings, and whether it’s a blessing or a curse depends on whether I and the people involved can repent and live to honor God instead of ourselves. It doesn’t mean that we offer ourselves up to be martyrs. I don’t believe that God martyrs people. God judges those who don’t repent. Those who repent will be shown grace. There may still be payment in the form of inconvenience or some extra effort, but not really suffering for those who truly repent.

The Holy Bible inspires me and I still learn from it everyday. But there have been some “extra” meaning added in the Bible, and we need to pray to God to help us understand what’s true and what’s false, especially when it comes to the Bible and biblical prophecy.

Hope you have a wonderful day to inspire you to repent and enjoy the fruits of repentance! (Gifts of the spirit are the fruits of repentance.)
